CA announced that CA SiteMinder r12 SP1-CR3 has earned Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 3, augmented by ALC FLR.1 and ASE TSS.2. The evaluation was carried out in accordance with the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme. Common Criteria is an internationally recognized independent security certification recognized by governments in more than 25 countries, including the United States. Common Criteria certification is granted when a Common Criteria testing laboratory determines that a product meets a measure of security. The certification addresses product functionality, development environment, documentation and product testing measures. CA SiteMinder is a centralized Web access management system that enables user authentication, along with single sign-on, policy-based authorization, identity federation, and centralized auditing of access to web applications and portals. By streamlining processes for Web application security and authentication, CA SiteMinder helps enable a Lean IT operation to provide maximum value by improving the customer experience and increasing user productivity, all while limiting waste. The CA SiteMinder evaluation was performed by Booz Allen Hamilton’s Common Criteria Testing Laboratory (CCTL). The Booz Allen Hamilton lab is one of only nine U.S.-based CCTLs approved by NIAP and meets the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme. The Booz Allen CCTL conducts IT security evaluations for conformance to the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation, International Standard ISO/IEC 15408:1999. CA eHealth® Performance Manager and CA NSM are among the CA products most recently evaluated under the Common Criteria. Additional CA products currently in evaluation include CA Access Control, CA Identity Manager and CA Spectrum® Infrastructure Manager (for the Canadian scheme of Common Criteria).
